Going, going... And Making Way for Neiman Marcus

Crews are demolishing the former home of David M. Brian in Broadway Plaza so that construction can begin on the new Neiman Marcus.

The demolition of the building that once held David M. Brian began last week--to make way for the new Neiman Marcus department store.

A giant excavator has been knocking down walls and tearing up ceilings of the 32,000-square-foot building at the corner of South Main Street and Mt. Diablo Boulevard in Broadway Plaza. The demolition will continue through next week.

David M. Brian, the home products and gift store, now operates on the other side of California Pizza Kitchen.

The demolition started Thursday and will continue through June 4.  The entire building is going to go.

Broadway Plaza will turn over the site to Neiman Marcus, which aims for a spring 2012 opening.
