New Downtown Restaurant Is Weeks Away

Corners Tavern will be in the former Bing Crosby's building at Broadway Plaza and South Main Street.

Corners Tavern, the replacement for Bing Crosby's at a visible corner in downtown Walnut Creek a couple blocks from the new Neiman Marcus, is weeks away from opening, according to a Bay Area restaurant news website.

was a big fixture at 1342 Broadway Plaza (at South Main Street). Its space is split between La Boulange Bakery and the new Corners Tavern, according to Inside Scoop SF. The chef will be Esteban Escobar, who once worked at Postrio.

The Corners Tavern website pegs Monday, March 26, as its date of opening for dinner. The website states: "Corners Tavern is a contemporary American tavern located in downtown Walnut Creek that features approachable and soulful American fare."
