Opinion: A Book About Racial Violence

'In the rest of the country, there is something strange going on.'

By Dan Auld

For someone in Walnut Creek to read a book about racial violence is like finding a bottle on the beach with a note in it. Let's face it: We are not exactly living in the most racially troubled part of the country. Maybe that is one of the unspoken reasons we like it here so much: Everyone seems to get along just fine.

But in the rest of the country, there is something strange going on and author Colin Flaherty set out to a write a book about it: White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence to America and the how the media ignore it.

Flaherty documents with lots of links to YouTube and other places how in more than 60 cities and hundreds of episodes over the last three years, large groups of black people have been beating and marauding and rioting and destroying property on a very nasty scale. And the PC media is frightened to death to talk about it.

Does that make you uncomfortable? That is why he wrote the book. Is it true? He convinced me. Highly recommended.

Flaherty is a bigtime reporter whose work has appeared all over the world. According to Wikipedia, he is best known for his story that resulted in the release from Soledad prison of a black man accused of trying to kill his white girlfriend. So this guy is very credible and a really good writer too.
