WC Woman Arrested in Sonoma County For Sixth DUI in Eight Years
Ruth Kathryn Fielding was driving 75 mph in a 45-mph zone, police say.
A Walnut Creek woman with five prior DUI arrests in the past eight years was arrested Monday on Lakeville Highway after being spotted driving 75 miles an hour in a 45-mph zone.
Ruth Kathryn Fielding, 59, of Walnut Creek, was arrested by Petaluma police after speeding on Lakeville near South McDowell Extension. When the officer approached her, he noticed a smell of alcohol. A sobriety test revealed that Fielding had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal amount, police said.
In addition, Fielding was on active DUI probation and was driving on a suspended license. Records show Fielding has five prior DUI arrests in July 2003, February 2006, January 2008, October 2008, and March 2011. Fielding also had an active $150,000 warrant from Contra Costa County for felony DUI charges.

Fielding was booked in Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $200,000 and her car impounded for 30 days
The arrest was part of a special enforcement operation on State Route 116, aimed at an increase in motorcycle traffic on the road because of a motorcycle event at Infineon Raceway.
