Tice Valley Blvd. in Walnut Creek.
Hans Hielscher is a German organist and composer. He has
been the organist and carillonneur at the Marktkirche in Wiesbaden since 1979,
and is an internationally known concert organist. He studied at the Detmold
State Academy of Music as well as in Paris/Rouen, France. He has performed in all

world. He has been featured on radio and television broadcasts, 22 CD
recordings, and is the author of several books. He is a published composer of several
works for the organ.
Mr. Hielscher will be playing several selections dating
back to composers from the 16th century, including “Rondo in G” by John Bull
and “Renaissance Dance Suite” by Claude Gervaise. He will skip through the
centuries stopping at 19th century music by Albert W. Ketelbey “In the Mystic
Land of Egypt” and “El Dia de Fiesta” by Noel Goemanne. Mr. Hielscher will then
play the very familiar “Prelude on the ‘Londonderry Air’” arranged by the
contemporary 20th century composer Noel Rawsthorne. The concert will conclude
with the “Poet and Peasant Overture” by Franz von Suppe.
