2011 East Bay Light The Night Walk

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk is the Bay Area's night to pay tribute and bring help and hope to millions of people touched by cancer. This year, more than 200 volunteers are needed to ensure the success of the walk and we are so grateful for your time and talents to help make it happen.

The purpose of LTN is to fundraise for blood cancer research, education materials for patients and families, as well as provide peer-to-peer counseling for patients. During the walk, walkers carry illuminated balloons- white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to Leukemia and Lymphoma. This moving tribute creates a beacon of hope, literally lighting the way to a cure.

The East Bay-Walnut Creek Walk will be at Civic Park, October 22, 2011.

Volunteers for this event will help with various tasks throughout the night. These task include: Banner decoration, cheering, clean up/breakdown, registration, route monitors, volunteer check-in, and many more areas. We need mature and reliable volunteers. Groups welcome. For further information please contact Terry Ramriez, Campaign Assistant, via email.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
