Assistance League of Diablo Valley's Operation School Bell Partners with Golden Eagle Insurance Corporation

June 21 was a busy day for Assistance League® of Diablo Valley, when employee volunteers from Golden Eagle Insurance Corporation returned to the Community Resource Center in Walnut Creek to get “hands-on” involved with Operation School Bell®.  One of Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s eight philanthropic programs, Operation School Bell is nationally acclaimed for providing clothes and shoes for elementary schoolchildren.  Last year alone, 3697 children in the Contra Costa community benefited from this program.

Golden Eagle Insurance Corporation is known for providing personal and commercial insurance products and services to small and medium sized California businesses.  Customer
support includes loss prevention, on line billing service, and immediate and thorough claim support.  The bottom line:  Golden Eagle Insurance Corporation’s service oriented and cost efficient management fortifies businesses in our community.

Likewise, Operation School Bell member volunteers accommodate the needs of schoolchildren, many of whom wear district mandated uniforms, by conducting clothing events, where they size and bag such items as one Payless shoe card, six pairs of socks and underwear, 2 pairs of pants, (1 skort for girls upon request), 3 polo
shirts, and one sweatshirt.  Eventually, the inventory will be transported to a school site for distribution.  Service oriented, this innovation keeps the students from missing valuable class time instruction and eliminates busing
expenses for the school district.  When Assistance League of Diablo Valley partners with the business community, benefits result, as seen in improved school attendance, positive campus citizenship, and overall academic performance.

School may be out for the summer, but Assistance League of Diablo Valley members and Golden Eagle Insurance Corporation employee volunteers realize that accommodating client needs is ongoing. To learn more about Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Corporate

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
