Join Kaiser Permanente for a special hike led by Save Mount Diablo at the Morgan Territory Regional Preserve on October 21st at 9am.
Morgan Territory is many conservationists' favorite East Bay park. Located between Mt. Diablo and Los Vaqueros, visitors can enjoy uninterrupted views on a clear day of hundreds of miles to the snow-covered Sierra.
The area was named for the family of settler Jeremiah Morgan; he called the territory "the morning side of the mountain" for its sunrise views. The 6.5 mile hike includes spectacular views, the rocky Prairie Falcon cliffs and loops around Bob Walker Ridge. There is an elevation gain of 600-800 feet.
You do not need to be a Kaiser Permanente member to attend. Everyone is welcome, including dogs.
To reserve your spot, please email diablokp@kp.org with the names and email addresses of those attending. The hike is registered on a first come first served basis. All ages are welcome.
Directions:
From I-580 in Livermore: exit onto N. Livermore Ave. and turn north. Shortly after N. Livermore curves left (west), turn right onto Morgan Territory Road and follow it for about 5.5 miles to the staging area which will be on the right hand side of the road.
From Walnut Creek/Concord: take Clayton Road to Marsh Creek Road, then turn right onto Morgan Territory Road. The staging area is 9.4 miles from Marsh Creek Road on the left hand side.
Look for Kaiser Permanente signs and balloons.
