Volunteers Needed for Project Homeless Connect 8

Volunteers are needed for a one-day, one-stop shop that provides hundreds of people with services to help end their homelessness. Project Homeless Connect 8, to be held June 14 in Concord, will connect people experiencing homelessness with food, medical and dental care, substance abuse programs, shelters and job assistance, among other things. The success of the annual event largely depends on volunteers, who are needed to help set up, greet and direct people, distribute goods and foods, assist service providers and provide general assistance at the event. Project Homeless Connect 8 will be held at the Willow Pass Center, 2748 East Olivera Road, Concord, CA 94519.

To register:

Volunteers must be 18 years of age and be willing to commit to at least a half day.

Contra Costa Health Services and the City of Concord are sponsoring this years’ event.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
