Community Corner

Continuing Saga of the Jewish Community Center in Walnut Creek -Developmennt of Jewish Community Center by Pulte Homes

Pulte Homes has purchased the Jewish Community Center which filed bankruptcy in Dec. of 2011 closing its' door with no notices to the families of the school that attended the school nor to its' employees. Now Pulte Homes has purchase this property for an undisclosed amount and is bailing out the JCC.  Pulte is proposing 85 high density homes on the 6 acre site with 35 ft. high buildings.  There is a meeting a the City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 19th at 5:15 pm on the third floor at the conference room.  Neighbors are encouraged to attend as this space is currently zoned open space recreational and part of the general plan for the city.  Pulte Homes is trying to build an urban community in suburban Tice Valley.  Is this another debacle by the Jewish Community Center to replenish their bankrupt funds?
