WCEF Joins #GivingTuesday

Walnut Creek Education Foundation
Joins the National #GivingTuesday Movement
to Encourage Spending with a Purpose

The Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF) has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners, charities, families, businesses, and individuals – to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday hopes to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.

Taking place on December 3, 2013 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving- #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national movement around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday have become days that are synonymous with holiday shopping. Participating in #GivingTuesday is as simple as making a donation of any kind to a charity of your choice. You may donate as much or as little you’d like, to as many or as few charities of your choice.

Your donation could help a student receive art, music and physical education classes in elementary school or provide access to school libraries before and after school. It could allow our teachers’ access to professional education coaches that provide instruction in best classroom practices to benefit the students that they teach. A donation to WCEF helps ensure reduced class sizes and more academic electives at the high school level. It allows our students to have access to counselors to help them navigate through the academic and social rigors of adolescence and young adulthood. Your support of WCEF allows these and so many other programs and personnel for our children that they otherwise would not have.

We hope that you will participate this Tuesday in this national day of giving and that you will consider supporting the Walnut Creek Education Foundation and our kids with your tax-free donation. To donate please go to: https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=c3f31c
