Protesters Tough Out Rain, Economic Inequity

For Jane Vinson, it was one day — two protests.

Vinson, a Rossmoor resident, was at , and made her regular Wednesday afternoon rounds at Occupy Walnut Creek on Mount Diablo Boulevard and Main Street.

"The 99 percent are not being heard sufficiently," said Vinson. "There are so many tings wrong in this state and in this country. Foreclosures. Lack of jobs. The war still going on and the health care system."

There were eight doughty protesters bundled up against the rains at Occupy Walnut Creek at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kathleen Klein of Walnut Creek said the Occupiers are endeavoring to avoid partisan politics in an election year. "The 99 percent is a lot of people and it's a lot bigger than any political party," Klein said. "The point is: Both parties let this happen."
