Remembering The 'Day That Will Live In Infamy'

Two Walnut Creek WWII veterans will not forget Pearl Harbor.

As the nation remembers the attack on Pearl Harbor today, there are ceremonies around the country. One of those was at Atria Valley View, a senior community in Walnut Creek.

During the event, veterans Carl Marble and Leo Bach spoke about their experiences witnessing the bombs falling on Pearl Harbor. On that quiet Sunday morning that was shattered by the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Bach was at nearby Hickam Field.

“The planes started coming in overhead and the bombs started to fall," Bach said. "We were completely unprepared."
