The Week Ahead: Library Town Hall, Broadway Plaza Plan, Community Service Day

Some of the meetings and activities happening in Walnut Creek this week

On Monday night, the Walnut Creek School District board of education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.

On the agenda are resolutions certifying district students have sufficient textbooks and instructional materials.

Also on Monday evening,
Contra Costa library officials will hold a town hall meeting to get input on how they can serve the public better.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Shadelands Art Center, 111 North Wiget Lane.

Wednesday is the deadline for people wanting to serve on the city's Design Review Commission to submit their applications.

On Wednesday evening, the Mt. Diablo Unified School District board of education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.

On the agenda is approval of the Ygnacio Valley High School stadium lighting project as well as the preliminary service agreement for the Northgate High School Aquatic Center.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the school district board room, 1936 Carlotta Drive in Concord.

On Thursday evening, the Planning Commission will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.

On the agenda is a study session to discuss the Broadway Plaza Long Range Master Plan.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 1666 N. Main St.

On Saturday, the city will host a Community Service Day with more than 60 volunteer projects to choose from.

You must be registered by Wednesday to participate.

Volunteers will check in at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Heather Farm Park. Project work begins at 9 a.m.
