You Ready For Some Snow?

Forecast calls for more cold temperatures and some rain on Friday night, which might produce snow on Mount Diablo and East Bay hills

Christmas is still more than two weeks away, but the East Bay might get a dusting of snow this weekend.

The National Weather Service says cold temperatures will continue for the next couple days with rain starting in the North Bay on Friday and sweeping across the East Bay on Friday evening.

A freeze warning is in effect through Friday morning and a winter weather advisory is in effect above the 2,500 foot level.

Forecasters say snow might be fall as low as 1,500 feet Friday night, which would put white powder on the top half of Mount Diablo as well as the upper peaks of the Orinda hills.

The forecast for the Walnut Creek area calls for an 80 percent of rain on Friday evening with a low temperature of 39 degrees.

The rain is expected to be clear by midday Saturday with a high temperature of 46 degrees. The temperature is expected to drop to 26 degrees on Saturday night.

Clear skies and cold temperatures are expected on Sunday and Monday.
