Call for Stories for Veterans Day Ceremony

Veterans Day is November 11, 2012

Do you or someone you know have a story to tell about former military service, or family history that has been passed down from generation to generation by writing or oral tradition?

The City of Walnut Creek wants to hear all about them in preparation for their upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony to take place November 12 at the Lesher Center for the Arts.

The veterans will be listed in the Veterans Day program and they or their family representative will receive a certificate of appreciation from the City Council at the November 12 ceremony.

Come and help honor the veterans among us and recognize their contributions to our country.

To share a story or simply a veteran's name and service history (branch of service and dates), please contact Suzie Martinez by 5:00pm Friday, November 2. Her email is smartinez@walnut-creek.org or (925) 943-5819

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
