Creative Writing Challenge Asks Kids to Write About the Library

Elementary school students can participate in Ygnacio Valley Library's writing challenge by sharing a story or poem about what the library means to them. Every entry wins a prize!

The Ygnacio Valley Library is asking Walnut Creek's elementary school students to put down their books, pick up their pens, and write a story or poem in honor of the library.

The 3rd Annual Young Writer's Challenge begins Monday, March 25, and invites all K-5 students in the city to participate. This year's theme is “Happy 100th Birthday Contra Costa County Library!” and every student who enters will win a prize.

Entries should be dropped off at the Ygnacio Valley Library by Friday, April 19.
