Atlatl competition returns for the second year to Sugarloaf Open Space on Youngs Valley Road.

Learn how to use this primitive stick in competitive primitive technology contests, games and activities. Crafts and games include making and spinning an acorn top, playing stick dice and other games, and making simple crafts from cattails and tules. Exhibitors will have even more to share. Make this a family day at Sugarloaf by bringing a picnic lunch!

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous".
