Diablo Women’s Chorale 69th annual spring concert, “A Garden of Delights”

“A Garden of Delights”, the 69th annual spring concert to be presented by Diablo Women’s Chorale (DWC) May 22nd, features a lively spring posy of songs evoking images of the garden and paradise. 

Mary Sorenson directs and Stephen Evans accompanies the chorale singing Handel, Schumann, Southern ballads, and Broadway’s “Come to my Garden”.    DWC’s jazz ensemble will sit in on favorite American standards such as “Singin’ in the Rain”, Irving Berlin’s “Cheek to Cheek”, and Fats Waller’s “Honeysuckle Rose”. 

DWC performs Sunday, May 22nd, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2317 Buena Vista Ave. in Walnut Creek.  Tickets are $12, $10 for students, available at the door or online at www.diablowomenschorale.org.  Attendees are invited to a reception following the concert in the adjoining hall.
