Look for A Wide-Ranging Talk about Ballet and Its Personalities

Author Toba Singer addresses Live! from the Library series at downtown library.

"Black Swan and Beyond" is the theme of the Live! from the Library series from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Oak View Room of the Downtown Walnut Creek Public Library.

The speaker is Toba Singer, who has written a book, First Position, profiling dancers who represent the pinnacle of their art over the last century. Singer was formerly the senior program director of the Art and Music Center of the San Francisco Public Library.

Attendees of "Black Swan and Beyond" receive complimentary tickets to an Inside the Dancer's Studio performance by Diablo Ballet.

Also on hand will be Diablo Ballet dancers Erika Johnson, Derek Sakakura and Mayo Sugano to share some stories about local ballet.
