Outlandish at the Bedford Gallery

The national juried exhibit at Walnut Creek's city gallery features the work of several artists from Alamo and Lamorinda.

The Bedford Gallery's newest exhibit, Outlandish: Contemporary Depictions of Nature, opens July 4. 

This national juried exhibition, which features the work of artists from Lamorinda and Alamo, looks at landscape from all vantage points and all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, and mixed media. From the micro to the macro, entries can explore a tiny spec of garden to a global view. Juried by Alison Gass, Assistant Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, juried exhibit features artists from all over the United States, with many local artists in the mix.

The Alcove Gallery will feature Outlandish: Invitational, organized by Bedford Gallery Curator Carrie Lederer, and highlighting the artwork of contemporary artists in the Bay Area. Artists Include: Mari Andrews, Vaughn Bell, Arthur Bell, Tony Bellaver, Tyler Bewley, Tiffany Bozic, Gary Brewer, John Casey, Noah Doely, Charlene Doiron Reinhart, Sarah Filley, Jessalyn Haggenjos, Misako Inaoka, Michael Kerbow, Josh Keyes, Amanda Klimek, Mary Anne Kluth, Therese Lahaie, Dan Lydersen, Yvette Molina, Crystal Morey, Areca Roe, Noah Sakamoto, Phyllis Shafer, Nicole Shaffer, Jenn Shifflet, Jake Watling, and Derek Weisberg.

The show's opening reception is July 7, from 6 to 8 a.m.

The reception features the Wonderarium’s MOBILE PLANT AMBASSADOR in a *one-night terrarium building workshop presented by the artists Yvette Molina and Sarah Filley. Meet the Outlandish exhibiting artists while enjoying hors d’oeuvres provided by the Bedford Gallery Guild.
