50 Weekly Protests For Occupy Walnut Creek

Other Occupy demonstrations have come and gone, but WC is still going every Wednesday evening at Main Street and Mount Diablo Boulevard.

Other Occupy protests — in the Bay Area and nationally — have come and gone.
Occupy Walnut Creek is still around. Wednesday evening's demonstration, with a dozen protesters at 5:15 p.m., marked number 50 for the weekly event.

"The problems are all still here," noted Kathleen Klein, who has been at most of the 50 at Main Street and Mount Diablo Boulevard. "Foreclosures are still happening." Occupy Walnut Creek protests economic inequities and the influence of corporate money on politics.

Mary Ratcliff of Rossmoor carried a faux American flag with white logos of huge corporations where you would normally see white stars on the blue field. Attached to her was a sign that read: "Oh hell, just elect the damn CEOs and get it over with."
