Eagle Takes Wing at Las Trampas -- Freedom!

If you've been lucky enough to hear those wingbeats in proximity, you never forget them. Thursday, a dedicated group of Lindsay Wildlife Museum volunteers sent an eagle back to the wild.

Beautiful moment at Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Thursday afternoon as East Bay Regional Park District staff, wildlife experts and caregivers from the Lindsay Wildlife Museum got together to release a rehabilitated golden eagle back into the wild.

The museum staff nursed this magnificent creature back to flight-ready status and there were big smiles all around when it clearly remembered where it came from and how to get there.
