Main Street Meet-Up Teaches Business Owners the Social Media Ropes

Walnut Creek Patch holds Main Street Meet-up for local businesses and nonprofits.

A mix of three dozen representatives of local businesses and nonprofit organizations gathered at Walnut Creek Patch's Main Street Meet-Up Wednesday to learn some social media tricks.

Walnut Creek Patch held the event at the downtown library for local people who want to become better connected online. There was a series of interactive sessions designed to help owners and managers better navigate social media, blogging and promoting their brand on the web.

Participants got a taste of Patch community building and a taste of Turkey from goodies prepared by Bosphorus Restaurant on Locust Street. Thanks also to the sponsor of Main Street Meet-up, Alamo Capital.

And thanks to the participants for making the meet-up measure up!

They rated it "5" on a 1-to-5 satisfaction survey and said they appreciated our speakers' enthusiasm and told Patch to "keep growing." And we hope we will.
