The story all summer long for real estate in Walnut Creek has been about the lack of inventory, and, as we head into October, there are no signs of change.  We won't be able to analyze and publish the September sales numbers for another week or so, but that's no reason we can't take a quick peek at the active inventory today's home buyers have to choose from.

The SPARRproperties Team tracks the number of properties, both single-family homes and condos/townhouses, active on the market on the first of every month. This ongoing monitoring gives us insight into the direction of the market, and, when combined with our other research, allows our clients to take advantage of the opportunities the market presents.  With that in mind, here's what we've seen at the first of each month this year for active properties:

Month Single-Family Homes Condos / Townhouses Oct 2012 35 32 Sep 2012 56 23 Aug 2012 56 27 Jul 2012 55 25 Jun 2012 62 24 May 2012 75 33 Apr 2012 58 38 Mar 2012 49 48 Feb 2012 54 54 Jan 2012 56 50

With low numbers like these, it's no wonder we continue to see a lot of buyer competition for each house that's properly priced.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
