'As Long As The Pizza is Good And The Beer is Cold'

Planning is a public affair on Facebook for the new Pinky's Pizza.

The reopening of Pinky's Pizza continues to be much anticipated on Facebook.

Former owner Tom Beisheim has put it out to the faithful, asking how fully staffed Pinky's should be for the on North Broadway across from the Post Office. He pointed it out that for the "last night" at the old Pinky's on South California Boulevard three years ago, it was all employees on deck plus some former employees and Pinky's couldn't keep up with the demand.

"Anyone have thoughts on this? Or do most of you care if service is slow and crazy?" asked Beisheim on the Pinky's Pizza Facebook group.

Pinky's old location on South California Boulevard (across the street from what is now Trader Joe's) was a hangout for generations of Las Lomas High students, including a kid named Tom Beisheim, who started working there in 1969 part time as a janitor. By 1974, he was an owner.

The new Pinky's on North Broadway, in the spot occupied until March by East Coast Pizza Bar & Grill, will be owned by Beisheim's friend, Dan Lilly, another Las Lomas/Pinky's veteran. Beisheim will be a presence.
