Cypress Abruptly Closes; New Restaurant May Be Moving In

Facebook page says the Locust Street restaurant was closed after it was sold

The Cypress restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek is closed and a new eating establishment may soon take its place.

The Locust Street restaurant abruptly shut its doors on Sept. 16.

Its Facebook page states the eatery was sold and closed. The page thanks customers for their loyalty and patronage.

A sign on the restaurant's front door informs customers they can redeem gift certificates at 1515 Main St., the site of the 1515 Restaurant Lounge.

The Dudum family, the owners of 1515, were the owners of Cypress.

The Cypress sign also tells people to "make way for a new dining concept that will open shortly."

Patch placed calls to two phone numbers listed on the sign, but so far there has been no reply.

Patch has also requested an interview with a member of the Dudum family.
