Did You Manage to Pre-Order the iPhone 5?

iPhone 5 Pre-orders sold out in one hour on Friday. Did you get one?

After months of speculation and rumors of the new iPhone 5’s features, Apple, Inc. (AAPL) opened pre-order sales to thousands of eager iPhone fans on Friday at 12 a.m.

Within one hour, pre-orders had completely sold out, compared to a 20-hour time period for the iPhone 4 and 22 hours for the iPhone 4s, according to the Huffington Post.

But those who weren’t able to snatch a pre-order can still wait in line at the Apple stores and purchase the phones in one week on Friday, Sept. 21.

And those who were able to place a pre-order still may not get their hands on them by the expected shipping date of Sept. 21.

Apple’s website states it will take at least two weeks to deliver the phone in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and Germany.

CNET reports that Verizon has pushed delivery dates back to Sept. 28, while AT&T has said iPhone orders will be shipped in 14 to 21 business days.

How was your experience trying to purchase the iPhone 5? Successful or not? Comment below.

I am happy with my HTC EVO 4G lte... It already is 2 years ahead of the iPhone (like most high end Androids are) and with android outselling iPhone 4 to 1 new phone activations, i think that Apple will go the way of BlackBerry...

I bought an unlocked Galaxy Nexus the week before and it has better specs than the iPhone 5 plus being unlocked I can move to any GSM/HSPA carrier I want with no contract. Apple is good at one thing: marketing. You'd think they were giving the phone away free. Android just reached over 500 million activations putting the iPhone way behind. I'm not a Google fanboy but I think they have the correct model for the 21st century. I'm an Android developer with some successful niche apps on Play and get requests for the same apps on iOS but it would be a gamble since I would have to buy a Mac to develop and the Android program was free and the SDK works on all three principle OS's.
