Lacoste Closing In Broadway Plaza; Is Tesla Moving In?

The clothing store will be shutting its doors on Saturday while reports circulate that Tesla will open a showroom in its place

The crocodile is leaving. Is the electric car taking its place?

An employee at the Lacoste store near the fountain in Broadway Plaza confirmed they will be closing on Saturday.

The employee said the company didn't gave workers any reason for shutting down operations. She also didn't know who would be moving into the space.

A report on beyondthecreek.com says Tesla Motors will be opening a pop-up showroom in the store.

Officials at Tesla did not return Patch calls on Thursday, but the electric car manufacturer does have a Walnut Creek website that says a service center is coming soon to town.

The Lacoste store seems to have enough room in for two, perhaps three, cars. It does have large windows that could be used to display the vehicles.
