Plan For Public Input On Broadway Plaza Growth

Three one-hour community meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4, at downtown library.

In the wake of, the owners of Broadway Plaza issued a news release laying out the plan for public input to "a master plan for major investments and updates" at the downtown pedestrian shopping center.

The community dialogue takes place at the same time as a general plan application with the city from Macerich, the plaza owner.

Any growth at Broadway Plaza would include improved parking and work within existing height limits, said Chuck Davis, vice president of Macerich.

"We're planning an interactive, one-hour session to gather ideas from resident about improvements they'd like to see at Broadway Plaza, from more outdoor seating areas and additional amenities to the overall pedestrian experience," said Davis.

Under construction now is a Neiman Marcus store due to open in spring 2012. Broadway Plaza now features Nordstrom, Macy's Women, Children & Home, Macy's Men & Juniors, Crate & Barrel and dozens of specialty shops.

Broadway Plaza one-hour community meetings are scheduled for three different times on Tuesday, Oct. 4, to accommodate different schedules, at the Oak Room of the downtown library on North Broadway — 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
