Solar Mounting Co. To Cut Shadelands Ribbon

Quick Mount PV employs 62 people in Shadelands Business Park.

A growing firm in the solar power business has scheduled its ribbon-cutting for a new facility in the Shadelands Business Park for June 27.

“Our move into this new facility signifies both our accelerated growth since our inception six years ago and our confidence in the future,” said Claudia Wentworth, Quick Mount PV's CEO, in a news release. “It’s a tremendous advantage to have enough space to expand significantly in the months and years ahead in a cost-effective manner that will strengthen our leadership position in the marketplace.”

The company — which makes and sells waterproof, aluminum mounting racks for residential and commercial rooftop solar panels — employs 62 people in its new headquarters.

Quick Mount bought the 133,600-square-foot property, formerly Varian, last summer. Small Business Administration financing was arranged with the help of TMC Financing, a Certified Development Company, according to the news release.

The city of Walnut Creek has an advisory committee looking at the potential in coming years for development of land owned by Safeway in the Shadelands Business Park. Safeway has announced plans to build a large supermarket there.
