Sports Basement: 'Bike Friendly Business Award'
East Bay Bicycle Coalition grants honor to Ygnacio Valley Road business.
Sports Basement is now certified as friend to the bikers.
The Ygnacio Valley Road business has won a Bike Friendly Business Award from the East Bay Bicycle Coalition in the medium-size business category.
"Not only do they provide a knowledgeable, full-service bike shop that caters to all experience levels, but they actively participate in and foster the growth of local bicycle advocacy group Bike Walnut Creek," wrote the bike coalition on its website, which included a quote from Danny Milks of the Bike Walnut Creek — "They support our advocacy efforts with a meeting place, free drinks and snacks, discounts, free gift cards, supplies, advertising and print marketing for us."

The third annual awards from the East Bay Bicycle Coalition also recognized Kaiser Oakland Medical Center and GU Energy of West Berkeley as bike-friendly businesses.
