Sprouts & Shutters: Roundbox Systems Arrives, Pier 1 Moves

Roundbox Systems has opened an office in Walnut Creek. The technology staffing and solutions company moved into its facility at 1255 Treat Blvd. on Dec. 1.

A store that catered to shoe lovers has closed in downtown Walnut Creek. Footcandy shut its doors on Dec. 30 at its store located at 1365 N. Main St. The store is selling its inventory at 50 to 80 percent off at a facility at 1341 N. Main St. The company still has stores in Sonoma and St. Helena.

Pier 1 Imports is moving down the street in Walnut Creek. The home decor and gift store is abandoning its current location at 2099 Mt. Diablo Blvd. at the end of February. In April, they will move into the building at 1902 Mt. Diablo Blvd. that used to house Golfsmith. For the rest of the month, Pier 1 is selling off its inventory at discounted prices.

One of the Safeway stores in Concord has closed its doors. The Safeway at 2250 Monument Blvd. shut down operations two weeks ago. The store had been in operation there since 1984. Safeway officials said the employees have been transferred to other stores.

A store that sells baby products is moving from Lafayette to Martinez. The Nurture Center has left its premises at 3399 Mt. Diablo Boulevard in downtown Lafayette and has opened up shop at 606 Ferry St. in downtown Martinez.
