Zachary's Pizza Eyeing Pleasant Hill

The deep-dish pizza maker may open a fourth East Bay location in the old Red Brick Pizza spot on Crescent Drive.

Zachary’s Chicago Pizza — the popular employee-owned chain with restaurants in Oakland, Berkeley and San Ramon — is eyeing the former location of Red Brick Pizza across the street from the .  

Zachary’s representatives and their architects will be giving a presentation to the city’s Architectural Review Commission Thursday evening.

For those of you unfamiliar with Zachary’s, the restaurant’s deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza has a cult following in the East Bay. It's adored with a passion that's easily spoofed. Check out this satirical video around the 1:18 mark. 

Here’s a tip for frugal diners. Zachary’s will sell you a ball of uncooked dough for $5, which makes enough for two delicious “homemade” Zachary’s pies.

This is really exciting for our family as we love Zachary's Pizza! The San Ramon location is much closer to our Walnut Creek home than the Oakland location but we would love a Pleasant Hill location as well! What a treat that would be!

Am I the only one who finds Pleasant Hill having an "Architectural Review Commission" funny? Like a large 'Zachary Pizza' banner is worse than the heinous marquee of that theatre across the street....

@Scott, I heard that Delica (from the Ferry Building) is coming out to WC near the movie theater. Also, anyone know when that new restaurant is suppose to open, across the street from Forever 21?
