Housemate wanted in Walnut Creek

$600 / 350ft² - Housemate wanted - large room -$600 (walnut creek)

Near Buena Vista at San Luis Rd

no smoking

private room no private bath

Looking for the right person to live with us. We are two middle aged mellow guys who work in SF and commute (ages 56 and 66). One works days and the other swingshift. One works for the EPA and the other is a nurse's aide on a psychiatric unit of a hospital. The house is a 3 bdr with one bath. It is a rather bohemian home sitting in an upscale neighborhood. Diversity is appreciated. Decor is tie-dye. More working class/artistic than most of Walnut Creek. Laundry room on site. The room for rent is rather large - at one time the family room for the house - approximately 14' x 25'. It has no closet but a portable clothes rack is available. The room is right next door to the garage which is often used in the early mornings as a work area so this would probably work best for an early riser or deep sleeper. There is an inlaw unit with a young couple sharing the back wall. They are nice and not really around that much. Other than that it is relatively quiet around here with the typical living noises of tv's and music. An enjoyment of music, the arts, and cultural diversity would be a plus.

Cost is $600 a month, first and last required for move in. Split utilities among occupants. A couple would be fine - cost of the space would be the same but each would pay their split of utilities. Temporary or long term ok. No lease. No large animals. There are multiple aquariums in the house already. Washer and dryer, dishwasher and double door refrigerator. Room will be available in early May, by May 15th at latest.

No drug abusers or alcoholics please. Should be physically able to assist in household upkeep/cleaning or willing to hire someone to do your share. House is near the intersections of San Luis Rd and Buena Vista. Short walk to pool at Larkey Park. 15 mins walk to BART. Very safe neighborhood - I once left my trunk open all night and no one touched my tools or the items I had bought and forgot to take them all in the house. Respond by email at peacesmileshugs at gmail dot come to set up interview if interested.

And to reinforce - no furry animals that run loose. I am allergic to cats and we leave the doors open much of the time. Most pets that live in cages or tanks would be fine. We had a previous bad experience with a roommate who kept the room closed all the time so his pet would stay in the room. Don't want to go down that road again.
