East Bay Festivals: Eat, Drink, and … Eat and Drink Some More

A rundown of the upcoming festivals in the East Bay for Sept and Oct of 2012.

It’s festival season here in the East Bay and we have some great ones coming up. Here's what’s in store for the coming months.

Sept 14, 15, & 16th

Greek Food and Wine Festival, Concord: The Yia Yia Sisterhood is cooking up some amazing Greek food and this year there will be a wine bar.. wahoo! There will be live bands playing along with an arts and crafts show. Tip: Print your FREE TICKET HERE

Lafayette Art and Wine Festival, Lafayette: (Sat & Sun Only) I’ve been to this event several years and I can say this one you shouldn’t miss. Admission is FREE but the drinks and food are not. You will need to buy tickets for those when you get there. Tip: Enter to win the sweepstakes for FREE here

Sept 19th

Walnut Creek Downtown Wine Walk, Walnut Creek : Here’s how it works – You pay $30 (or $40 at the door) for a bracelet, glass, and map. You walk from store to store in downtown Walnut Creek tasting wine and eating many different types of food. This is a don’t miss event. Tip: Buy Online before Sept 14th and avoid the long lines. Get there early!

Sept 29th

3rd Annual Martini Festival, Martinez : Come celebrate the birthplace of the Martini. I haven’t been to this event yet but I would like to make it this year. As you can tell I am a big fan of festivals. If you have a Tip for this event please leave it in the comments below.

Oct 6th & 7th

Clayton Oktoberfest, Clayton: Celebrate “Munich Style” with German beers and food. Live music and a carnival.. beat that! I have been and it’s a great time. Tip: Bring some extra cash to ride the ferris wheel after you’ve had a few German beers.

Coming Nov 3rd but On-sale Now -

Gourmet East Bay, Walnut Creek: Thirty of the top restaurants throughout the East Bay will feature premier tastings; wineries from Livermore, Napa, and Lodi will feature tastes of great wines, and premier spirits vendors will pour their signature cocktails. Entertainment will be provided by Northern California’s premier party band, Take 2.

If you know of any more events that you think should be included in this list, or have tips/comments for the events above please leave a comment. Thanks!

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
