Do You know Someone Missing in Action from One of America's Wars?
The City would like to honor and remember local MIAs at its annual Memorial Day celebration May 30 in Civic Park.
For its Memorial Day celebration this year, the City of Walnut Creek will remember military personnel from all engagements who went missing in action and never returned home.
The City would like to honor these MIAs and is asking families or friends to contact City Clerk Patrice Olds at (925) 943-5819 or olds@walnut-creek.org with names of friends and family members who are MIAs.
Walnut Creek's annual Memorial Day Observance will be held Monday May 30 at 10 am at the Gazebo in Civic Park, corner of N. Broadway and Civic Drive.
Other Memorial Day events include an author night on Friday May 27: Local Authors ahare their stories at 6:30 p.m. in the Walnut Creek Library. On Monday May 30 at 1 p.m., the library will screen the film Neil Looker “Lives Beyond the War” which highlights the experience of local World War II veterans.
