Four Injured In Rossmoor Bus Accident

The cause of the late morning accident is under investigation.

Four people were injured and a power pole damaged late this morning when a bus driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a power pole. All four passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries are not yet known, according to Maureen O'Rourke, senior manager of communications services at Rossmoor.

"The bus landed on a grassy area inside the gate," she said. "Traffic was backed up quite a bit as a result of the accident."

She said the power at the gate went out at first, rendering the gates and the guardhouse computers useless until the generators kicked in. Even after that, she said the traffic was backed up for several hours while an outbound lane was opened for inbound traffic.

"It was quite a mess there for a while," she said.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. The driver was not injured in the crash.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
