Lighting Up The Holidays

Two homes in Walnut Creek show off a dazzling display of lights and decorations

There are a multitude of brightly decorated holiday houses in Walnut Creek this season.

Patch is highlighting two that go to extremes with lights and decorations to entertain children and adults alike.

A home in midblock of Candleberry Road in the Woodlands subdivision has been lighting up the night for more than two decades.

It features a Santa house with a small circling train, a larger wooden train pulling cars filled with stuffed animals and a Frosty the Snowman surrounded by hundreds of lights.

There are lights on the roof, in the orange trees and along the grass. It's a holiday landmark for residents throughout the town.

A couple miles away at the corner of Arbolado Drive and Wiget Lane is a extravagently decorated home that is newer to the holiday scene.

This home features a snow globe, a Russian-like Santa, two Frostys and plenty of lights. There's a Santa in a helicopter as well as a Santa in an airplane on the roof.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

How about you research the current ADA guidelines regarding surface materials for play areas?Read More Walnut Creek is simply acting to be in compliance. Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
