Community Corner

Advocacy Day for Education 2014

Parents, educators, and
community members are invited to attend the 34th Annual PTA Advocacy Day for
Education.  This year's event focuses on the many transitions occurring in education in the state of California
including transitions in Standards, Testing, state funding allocations, and opportunities for parent and community involvement in setting priorities for budgeting and programming.

The event will open with background provided by Patty Scripter, California State
PTA Vice President for Education. It will also include three panel discussions:
one involving our state legislators, another involving our local congressmen,
and the last one including the superintendents from three local school
districts.  The panels will be moderated by Ed Sources's John
Fensterwald.
