Carquinez Model Railroad Society's Christmas Open House

The Carquinez Model Railroad Societyill be having their Christmas open house on December 1st and 2nd from 10AM to 4pm. Come and view a 3 level HO scale model train layout with models of the Benicia Railroad Bridge, an oil refinery, and C & H Sugar refinery. Fun for the whole family. Kids of all ages welcome.Located at 645 Loring Ave., Crockett, across from C & H Sugar. $4/adult. Children under 16 free.


The layout has three levels located on two floors connected for operators and visitors by a short staircase at the north (street side) end of the train room. Our trains operate electrically using a Digital Command Control (DCC) system made by NCE.


The Carquinez Model Railroad Society was the originally the Vallejo Model Railroad Club, established in 1976, at the Solano County Fairground. In May 2005, we moved to our current location and changed our name to the Carquinez Model Railroad Society.

The layout is one of the largest of its kind in northern California. The layout is constructed in three levels with two large helixes on opposite corners of a 36’ by 60’ room


The Carquinez Model Railroad Society’s layout is a compressed representation of the former Southern Pacific Railroad mainline running from Oakland, California to Sparks, Nevada, with extensions to Stockton and Tracy. The time period for the trains, structures and track is 1950-present.
