Jazz, swing and even a little Tower of Power will rock the Walnut Creek Library when Civic Arts Education’s Big Band takes the stage. Conductor Max Pricco has programed a wide variety of songs to satisfy lots of musical tastes including several Duke Ellington tunes (“C Jam Blues,” “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”), Charlie Parker, Cole Porter, Paul Desmond and Tower of Power.

“I wanted to do a Tower of Power chart to give people a preview of our concert with Mic Gillette, a trumpet player with Tower of Power among others that we’ll be doing in April,” says Max Pricco. “So I’ve included the group’s song “What is Hip” in our playlist.” Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.
