Lovers' Day Aloe Tour

Turn Valentine’s celebrations green with The Ruth Bancroft Garden’s  “Lovers’ Day Aloe Tour,” an all-day event focused specifically on their dramatic aloe collection. These winter bloomers put on a stunning show with colorful, dramatic flower stalks that rise above stern prickly succulents. Three one-hour docent-led tours will be offered throughout the day, highlighting the most spectacular blooms and giving a brief description of the plants’ history and native habitats. Hot drinks and nibbles will be served, including sweets from TCHO Chocolates in San Francisco. In addition to being prized for their beauty, some species of aloes are have been used in herbal medicine since the First Century for their rejuvenating, healing, or soothing properties.


Sunday, February 10; tours at 10:30a.m., Noon and 1:30p.m.; The Garden is open 10a.m. – 4p.m. Free parking.
