Miramonte Swim Club Stroke Clinic Registation Opens

SWIM STROKE CLINIC for Ages 5-18 years old

The Stroke Clinic and Swim Lessons offer specialized instruction in all strokes to swimmers age 4 through 18. 

Under the supervision of Eddie Lee, Quinn Silberman, and the rest of our hard working, talented coaching staff, the instructors will include members of the Miramonte Swim Club coaching staff.  The coaches have recreational, USA Swimming, and high school experience.  Several of the coaches have been OMPA and County champions.  They love to work with children.

What:  A series of 8 or any 4, forty-five minute group stroke clinics for competitive swimmers between 5 and 18 years old.  The swimmers will be grouped by ability, age, and time preference.

Goals:  For each swimmer to establish solid fundamental strokes, turns, and starts in all four strokes. To introduce new developments in strokes, turns, and starts.

On the following dates, we will focus on these strokes:

April 6 - Freestyle

April 7 - Breaststroke

April 13 - Backstroke

April 14 - Butterfly

April 20 - Freestyle

April 21 - Breaststroke

April 27 - Backstroke

April 28 - Butterfly

SWIM LESSONS for Ages 4-8 years old

What:  A series of 8 or any 4, forty-five minute group lessons for 4-8 year old beginning swimmers who are comfortable in the water.  Each lesson will have a limited number of swimmers to ensure an adequate instructor-swimmer ratio.  The swimmers will be grouped by ability, age, and time preference.

Goals:  For each swimmer to learn the basic swim strokes, have fun, and learn about Miramonte Swim Club.

REGISTRATION

The Stroke Clinic and Swim Lessons are open to the public and you do not have to be an MSC member to attend.  There is a $130 fee to attend ($25 discount for each additional sibling) all 8 sessions; $80 fee for any 4 sessions (no sibling discounts).  MSC team members must pay separately for this clinic -- the clinic fee is not part of the Summer Swim Season Registration fee.  You may sign up for all 8 sessions or pick any 4 sessions.  There will be no refunds for any session days you might miss.

The clinic and lessons will be held on Saturday and Sunday time slots between the hours of 10am - 1pm, starting Saturday, April 6 and continuing to Sunday, April 28, 2013.  Openings are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The clinic and lessons will be held at the Miramonte High School Pool.

Kids swim in the same 45-minute time slot on each of the 4 or 8 session days.  During the online registration process, if you select the "all 8", you can select which 45-minute time slot you prefer (10-10:45, 10:45-11:30, 11:30-12:15, or 12:15-1pm).  We will try to accomodate your preference but we cannot guarantee a particular slot.  You will be notified by email approximately 1 week before the clinic begins as to which slot your child is swimming in.  If you choose the "pick 4", you can select which 4 days and time slot you prefer in a separate form in the Registration Success page - after you click the "Pay & Submit the Registration" button.  Swimmers will be grouped by age and ability into separate groups.  Stroke clinic and swim lessons will be running concurrently at the pool in different pool lanes.

Please note that the volunteer jobs and work obligation only apply if you are signing up for the summer swim season.  If you are ONLY signing up for the stroke clinic/swim lessons, please do NOT sign up for volunteer jobs.
