Mark and Cathy Pemberton are local photographers who normally focus on nature and wildlife subjects as well as environmental issues. Their travels have taken them to Africa, Iceland, Hudson Bay, the American Southwest and many more locales. They have taken special interest in the poaching of ivory in Africa and the plight of the polar bears around Hudson Bay. Mark and Cathy have given numerous talks to local organizations about their experiences and observations on environmental topics. They just completed very successful showings of they work at the Gallery on 2nd in Brentwood and at the aRt Cottage in Concord.
According to Mark “Eggs hold an almost mystical place in the psyche of most cultures and we wanted to explore this simple but interesting subject. The photographs are a study of shape, shadow, light and texture.
The show runs from August 14 to October 26 at the Moraga Art Gallery, 522 Center Street, Rheem Shopping Center, Moraga, CA. A public opening reception will be held on August 17 from 5-7 pm. For more information visit http://www.moragaartgallery.com
