Walnut Creek CEO Honored By American Red Cross
Paula Downey of CSAA Insurance Group is named as humanitarian chief executive of the year
Paula Downey, the chief executive officer of the Walnut Creek-based CSAA Insurance Group, is being honored by the American Red Cross for her company's philanthropic efforts.
Downey was named this month as the Humanitarian CEO of the Year by the Bay Area chapter of the Red Cross.
Downey is being recognized for the company's support of the Red Cross over the past 14 years.
CSAA Insurance along with other AAA-affiliated companies have donated more than $3 million to the non-profit organization.
In addition, CSAA employees have volunteered alongside Red Cross workers to help clean up after disasters such as Superstorm Sandy and the Moore, Oklahoma tornado.
Downey will officially receive her award at a banquet on April 5.
CSAA Insurance provides services in 23 states and the District of Columbia. The company has 3,500 employees.
