What drives you to practice medicine?

I have always been interested in science. As an undergraduate at UC Davis I was involved in research programs and would have been happy just doing research. But I rotated through a patient-centered internship at UCD Medical Center and it opened my eyes. I was impressed with the physician-patient relationship. Research lacked something – a connection to patients. So, I decided to pursue medicine and I have never regretted my choice

Why Family Medicine?

I like the idea of caring for people and for their families. Family Medicine allows me to treat an entire family while delivering individualized care. I enjoy that connection to people and that level of interaction.

Why Kaiser Permanente?

I was born in India and moved here at the age of 10. My family has always been Kaiser Permanente members. It was my only view of medicine until I went to medical school. There, I was exposed to other systems and institutions and it made me realize how much Kaiser Permanente excels in so many areas. I never thought twice about practicing with Kaiser Permanente. In my opinion, it is the best integrated health care delivery system, providing the most up-to-date and evidence-based care for its members.

What can patients expect at the new San Ramon Medical Offices?

Our new facility, located at 2300 Camino Ramon in the Bishop Ranch office park, is designed to provide convenience for our members who live and work in the area.

Services at the San Ramon Medical Offices will include: Adult and Family Medicine; Pediatrics; Women’s Health; Reproductive Health Services; Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy; Dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology; and a Healthy Living Center.

I will be one of 42 providers at the new medical offices. I am excited about the new facility and about working in San Ramon. My family lives in San Ramon and we love the diversity the area has to offer. I am lucky that I am in a place I love, doing what I love.
