Kaiser Permanente in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration is encouraging residents to participate in “National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.”

The prescription drug take-back program provides communities with an opportunity to safely and easily dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused medicines.

WHEN:           Saturday October 26, 2013

                       10am – 2pm

 

WHERE:        Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center

                      1425 S Main St.

                      Walnut Creek, CA 94596

(Follow the signs on South California at Newell, near the parking structure)

Kaiser Permanente’s Walnut Creek Medical Center is one of many Kaiser Permanente hospitals throughout Northern California that will serve as a collection site on October 26th for the disposal of expired, unwanted, and unused medicines. The service is free, easy, and anonymous.

If residents are unable to participate on October 26, they can also purchase “mail back,” postage-paid envelopes available at Kaiser Permanente and many other pharmacies.

Last April, Americans turned in 371 tons (over 742,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at over 5,800 sites operated by the DEA and its thousands of state and local law enforcement partners.
