The September sun is still bright, but someone somewhere (well, except for locked out National Hockey League players) is thinking of lacing up the skates.
In Walnut Creek, that person might want to circle these dates on the calendar: Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, through Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. Those are the operative dates for Walnut Creek on Ice in Civic Park, the temporary rink set up for two months that include free skates, lessons, birthday parties, themed nights and private ice rental.
The announcement came from the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, which says, "Get your skate on!"
