Scratch Out Your Own Patch Dispatch

Don't say we never told you Walnut Creek Patch is interactive.

Patch is made for people like Mary Anne Clark. The activist, opposing plans for the new event center at Rossmoor, wrote out a Patch announcement Wednesday and posted it herself with some pictures to illustrate what the grounds look like now.

There's some of you out there — go ahead, own up — who invite the editor of Walnut Creek Patch out to do a story, and then are not so fond of the way it comes out. Y'all could steal a page from Mary Anne. She wrote the story, posted the pictures, explained the connection of the pictures to the story. I was an innocent bystander.

It's all about interactivity, folks. Patch is making it easier for you to post your own news and post your own views (that's our blog platform folks — more on that another day). As to posting an announcement, here's how it goes. Post an item in  one of our categories. Mary Anne used the "awareness" category. Sure — why not? If it doesn't seem to fit any category, shoot for the closest one in meaning. To do that, sign up as a registered Walnut Creek user, and once you're logged on, just go to

http://walnutcreek.patch.com/announcements/new

and fill out and submit the form there. If you want, you can add an image to the announcement before you submit by clicking the "Choose Files to Upload" button located below the description field on the form.

And thanks for using Walnut Creek Patch to spread the word.
